Security issues in Wireless Sensor Networks What the security issues are related to Wireless Sensor Networks Name:Sandeep Kumar Pulijala Student ID:S0261345 Teacher:Erin Class:DEA3 Central Queensland University What the security issues are related to Wireless Sensor Networks Wireless sensor networks are very important in everyday life. This new technology is exciting with unlimited potential for numerous application areas including environmental, medical, military, transportation, entertainment, emergency management and homeland defence. WSN are connected with nodes, in WSN communication takes place through air. The exploration subject that I have picked is on Wireless†¦show more content†¦An extension of this approach is in-network aggregation which aggregates data progressively as it is passed through a network. In-network data aggregation can reduce the data packet size, the number of data transmissions and the number of nodes involved in gathering data from a WSN. Therefore, in the field of WSNs, privacy-preserving data aggregation is becoming a hot issue in WSNs. To address this issue, some protocols have been proposed. In this, they provide a comprehensive summary and comparison of the existing privacy-preserving data aggregation protocols for WSNs. WSN is related to privacy-preserving data aggregation protocols (Ping et al 2012). In the authors reviewed privacy-preserving techniques for protecting two types of private information: data-oriented and context-oriented privacy. First, authors focuses only on data privacy in order to provide detailed overviews of the existing privacy-preserving data aggregation protocols for WSNs (Ping et al 2012). Two main security challenges in secure data aggregation are confidentiality and integrity of data (Sugandhi et al 2013). While traditionally encryption is used to provide end to end confidentiality in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), the aggregators in a secure data aggregation scenario need to decrypt the encrypted data to perform aggregation. Thus, while data aggregation improves energy efficiency of a network, it complicates the existingShow MoreRelatedVarious Design Issues In Wireless Sensor Networks875 Words   |  4 PagesVarious design issues in WSN’s are explaine d below :- a. Energy Consumption: Sensor Nodes are subject to battery power. Sensor networks are set on hostile situations so supplanting the battery is unfeasible. Consequently energy preservation and administration is a basic issue to determine in wireless sensor network. b. Fault tolerance and adaptability: Fault tolerance is the capacity to keep up sensor network functionalities with no interference because of disappointment of sensor nodes. At theRead MoreWireless Sensor Network Attacks1300 Words   |  6 Pagespapers on the recent explorations and growth in the field of Wireless Sensor Networks and attacks in WSN’s have been reviewed and discussed below: Juby Joseph et al (2014), â€Å"Misdirection Attack in WSN Due to Selfish Nodes; Detection and Suppression using Longer Path Protocol†, 2014 There is a lot of use of the wireless sensor networks in fields which have consumers and in industrial and defense areas also it has its involvements. The networks are vulnerable and prone to the attacks of outsiders. Wireless sensor networks are used for detecting the natural events by measuring the temperature, air pressure, vibration, etc. and generate alarms. WSNs can measure the agitation of buildings, CO2 levels, and weather monitoring, etc. (Yawut Kilaso, 2011). WSN that utilized Zigbee/IEEE802.15.4 is utilized as a weather monitoring network. It sends the information about the weather and generates hazard alarms. Decision tree techniques are used for analysing the data at sensor site. WeatherRead MoreWireless Sensor Networks And Technology Constraints1058 Words   |  5 PagesWireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) present universally and growing rapidly due to its unique features, such as their less weight, cheap, and wireless nature. However, due to its highly constrained computational and energy resources this network is exposed to numerous attacks that affect its security. So, it is important to address these security issues from the beginning of the system design. but, due to inherent resource and computing constraints, security in sensor networks poses diverse challengesRead MoreA Review : Wireless Body Area Network Performance Dependency1748 Words   |  7 PagesA Review: Wireless Body Area Network Performance Dependency Introduction: Wireless network of wearable computing devices is known as Body Area Network (BAN),/ Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) / Body Sensor Network (BSN).WBAN is a wireless network which is used in wearable computing devices[1]. It can be either embedded inside the body or can be surface mounted on fixed position wearable technology.
